About Me
My name is Md Hedayetul Islam Chy, a third semester graduate student in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Chittagong. Currently, I'm working under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Arif Iftakher Mahmood. In my recent research, I am exploring natural surfaces with the goal of designing anti-splashing surfaces that mimic natural structures.

In addition to this, my research interests encompass a wide range of areas, including Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Wearable Electronics, Machine Learning, and Bio-Engineering.

    "Natural surfaces have micro and nano structures that affect the splashing behavior of water droplets falling on them. Synthetic surfaces mimicking this natural phenomenon have been previously reported. The objective of our current work is to design such surfaces and fine tune the fluid splashing behavior using three-dimensional(3D) simulation tools. We have designed and simulated splashing behavior on geometrically patterned micro scale surfaces using the Volume of Fluid(VoF) method. Surfaces with micro scale pillars of different heights, geometrical shapes, layouts as well as tip designs were simulated with the goal of minimizing fluid splash. We found that certain pillar models produce less splashes than others. We have further optimized array structures for fluid splashing diameter and velocity. Behavior at different falling angles and fluid types are also investigated in multi-pillar models. The results indicate that a non-uniform structured surface decreases the speed and energy of the falling droplet. We have reported here three finalized designed models that are 35%, 63.5% and 69% effective in reducing splash compared to a flat surface model."

  2. Centralized monitoring system for Covid-19 ICU at Chittagong General Hospital
    Details: Our automated service is tailored to support hospital staff by efficiently monitoring and tracking data from ICU patients' bedside monitors, with a specific emphasis on non-COVID cases. This project serves as a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the evolution of a project into a fully-fledged product. While the initial stages of project development may appear straightforward, this research delves into the intricate process of transforming ideas into real-world solutions, including navigating complexities in implementation and understanding human behavior. space.

  3. Early diagnosis platform for Diabetic Retinopathy

  4. Speakers from Scratch
    Details: I fabricated the PCB using everyday household items. For a quick overview, check out the YouTube link below. Additionally, I delved into understanding the unique traits of various transistors and their application in speaker creation. The PCB design was crafted using DipTrace software, and remarkably, it was produced without the need for specialized machinery. I also explored different types of FETs to optimize the project further.

  6. Ghorvara mobile application
    Details: A cross-platform Flutter application created for both Android and iOS. This program improves the ability of residents to track their spending. It also allows the house owner to simply verify the payment status of the residents with a single click. Despite the fact that this software is still in development
